Logos into Pathos

In Greek thought, Logos is structure — the ordering principle that gives form to experience. Pathos is what breaks through it: raw feeling, unmediated and real. These paintings move in that direction — from structure toward feeling, not the other way around.
This series began with the neurographic line: a methodical, structured approach to mark-making rooted in mindful practice. It provided a container. But the emotions being brought to the surface — heartbreak, pressure, the full weight of interior life — were too strong for any formula to hold. The structure cracked open. What emerged was something more instinctive: large surfaces, intense color, looping lines that simultaneously release and contain what the body carries.
The series evolved over time. Earlier works are dense and pressured — feeling held tightly within visible structure. Later paintings opened toward breath and imagination, the marks loosening, something closer to resolution becoming visible. That opening pointed directly toward the practice that followed.
