Drawing: Converging Currents
In these drawings, lines, patterns, and the human figure converge like currents of thought. The house, the body, and abstract marks emerge organically, forming a landscape of internal constraint where imagery is discovered rather than predetermined. Working primarily in ink, I explore the sharp contrast of negative space and the rhythm of mark-making as a way to trace memory and the inner psyche.
Each drawing is a quiet journey inward—a transformation of feeling into form. Through this practice, my thoughts and ideas transform into marks; it is a somatic process of unburdening, where the movement of the pen allows the mind to find a state of calm, focused presence.
What began as a way to clear the mind has evolved into a vital dialogue between the wounded warrior (the struggle of the body) and the ascendant sage (the clarity of the spirit).
These drawings are the blueprints for my larger works, holding the initial seeds of perception that eventually bloom into my paintings and poetry.
