About the Artist
Triada’s multidisciplinary work explores resilience, memory, and transformation — creating light from struggle through poetry, visual art, and teaching. Guided by courage, integrity, and a deep empathy for the human experience, her art turns adversity into connection and meaning. Across painting, drawing, and photography — as well as poetry and socially engaged projects — she channels emotion, memory, and perception into compositions that are both deeply personal and universally resonant. She does not shy away from personal struggle but renders it into imagery that reaches beyond the autobiographical, becoming archetypal — bridging inner wounds with universal truths. Whether through the reflective light of the moon over water, the flowing lines of neurographic-inspired art, or the fragmented bodies and homes of Long Covid and Unbound works, her art communicates complex inner states with subtle precision. Each mark, line, or word traces the rhythms of the psyche while responding to the world outside, inviting viewers to reflect, feel, and discover insight in both the intimate and the universal. Her practice continues to evolve through mindfulness-based art and meditation, integrating reflection and healing into both her work and teaching
Artist Statement
I am an interdisciplinary artist exploring body, identity, home, voice, and the inner landscapes of feeling—tracing the psyche’s inner currents as the outer world flows through me. Through painting, drawing, photography, poetry, and socially engaged work, I navigate between introspection and engagement, attending to the subtle rhythms of mind, emotion, and perception. I am in the world, yet my practice turns inward, shaping what I observe into thought, feeling, and form.
The full moon over water recurs in my paintings, a light in darkness that invites reflection and personal radiance. In Neurographic Inspired Art and my free-flowing drawings, lines, patterns, and forms map unseen terrain, transforming initial emotions into something larger—resilient, luminous, and alive. In Long Covid and Unbound works, the body and the house serve as metaphors for vulnerability, endurance, and eventual liberation, often guided by poetry that inspires and channels the creative process. Photography extends this practice, capturing light on water, fleeting moments, and the essence of a place that later informs painting. More recently, plein air painting has become a vital part of my work, offering direct immersion in landscape. Nature’s light, sound, and presence shape each piece, supporting both creative exploration and personal renewal.
My socially engaged projects extend these explorations outward, connecting aesthetic observation with collective responsibility and awareness. Throughout my work, transformation is central: thought, feeling, and experience are translated into form, mark, and image, offering both personal insight and a shared sense of possibility. Art, for me is a practice of becoming—tracing, shaping, and revealing what endures.

Artist Bio
Triada Samaras is a Greek-American interdisciplinary artist working from studios in Brooklyn, New York, and Standish, Maine. Her practice moves fluidly between introspection and engagement, exploring body, identity, home, voice, and the inner landscapes of feeling.
Through painting, drawing, photography, poetry, and socially engaged projects, she translates lived experience into visual and poetic forms that resonate on both personal and universal levels. Samaras transforms personal struggle into imagery that transcends autobiography, bridging inner wounds with archetypal and collective truths. Her work is recognized for its intuitive, reflective, and visceral interpretation of contemporary life—inviting viewers to encounter both personal insight and shared human experience.
Grounded in observation of the wider world, Samaras’s Greek heritage deepens her perspective on identity, belonging, and cultural memory. Her paintings range from luminous moons over water, to flowing neurographic-inspired line work, to the fragmented forms of bodies and homes in her Long Covid and Unbound series—often guided by poetry and attentive to the subtle rhythms of the psyche. Across her work, process and journey are as vital as outcome: each piece is a translation of thought, emotion, and perception into mark, form, and image.
Triada Samaras has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally. Recent shows include James Howe Gallery at Kean University (2024), the FL3TCH3R Exhibition at the Reece Museum, Tennessee (2024), and “Look Up: Denizens of the Sky” at View Arts Center, Old Forge, NY (2024–2025). Selected past exhibitions include Unbound at the Paterson Museum (2019), Disconnected Anatomies at The Riverfront Gallery (2022), Glimpse at Gallery Afero (2020), and Greek Women: Then and Now at Howe Gallery, Kean University (2019–2020). Her work continues to illuminate pathways toward empathy and renewal, inspiring others to find creative strength and meaning in their own stories. Her Unbound solo exhibition at the Paterson Museum was featured in Tussle Magazine in a piece by art critic Jonathan Goodman, and curator Mary Birmingham has also written about her work for an upcoming catalog.
